Sir Anthony Gormley Sculpture on Lundy
A special trip on Lundy Castaway to see Sir Anthony Gormleys Sculpture
2015 is the 50th Anniversary of the Landmark Trust and to celebrate the occasion, the artist Antony Gormley has been asked to commission sculptures for five of the Landmark Trust’s sites. One of these sites is Lundy island.
Sir Antony Gormley is well known for the Angel of the North sculpture. He was awarded the Turner Prize in 1994 His sculpture on Lundy, however, will be there for one year and is situated on a granite cliff at the south end of the island. It is cast Iron and is life size.
